Travel the frozen reaches of the winter wilderness outside Flagstaff by visiting the Flagstaff Nordic Center, where 25 miles of cross-country ski trails provide amazing sights and a great way to keep in shape. Travel the area via ski or snowshoe, or stay closer to the lodge where a sledding hill and large snow play space can keep the whole family occupied for hours. For a romantic escape during any time of the year, spend the night in the center's cabin or its remote-but-cozy yurt, where the only thing around is the quiet of the forest. Hidden away in the Coconino National Forest, the center is about 15 miles northwest of Flagstaff, not far from the Arizona Snowbowl ski resort.
